New Agreements Healthcare (NAH) is new and very different from other quality improvement approaches. With the support of leadership, systems improvements are created primarily by frontline staff who are directly involved in patient care and patient support services. This makes change sustainable. Participation is voluntary and by choice only. It starts with focus on trouble spots and grows spontaneously as successes are shared by those doing the work. It requires systems thinking and employs the NAH System for Systems Thinking™ method and the new set of NAH Systems-Improvement Tools™ designed especially for use by frontline staff. It’s standalone or compatible with most other quality-improvement initiatives common in healthcare.

NAH is not for everyone. It requires leaders who are willing to grow professionally and who will support the frontline people in creating sustainable change.
